Emerging Energy Latin America Fund II

Emerging Energy Latin America Fund II (EELAF2) is the second fund of a joint venture between EEEIG and Cleantech Advisors, a Latam focused SME development company. EELAF2 focuses on renewable, energy efficiency and clean infrastructure investments in Latin America, principally in the high growth economies of Brazil, Mexico, and Peru, and other markets.

EELAF2 completed its investment mandate in 2016 and it targeted regional mid-market renewable and energy companies. Its principal investments included energy efficiency and lighting projects in the region.


Optima Energía is a highly respected ESCO in Mexico with 25 years of experience and has over 120 energy efficiency projects implemented. They were the first company implementing energy efficiency projects through performance contracts in the country and are currently implementing efficient Municipal lighting projects. EELAFII is investing with Optima in the development of these projects starting with the Municipality of Cajeme in the State of Sonora, replacing 25,432 existing traditional High pressure Sodium lamps with state of the art LED lighting systems generating electricity savings of more than 54%.
